“What if I fall? Oh, my darling, but what if you fly?” This quote has been one of my favorites during my current journey. What’s incredible about this quote is that it is taken from a short poem written by 19 year-old poet, Erin Hanson. Proof that even at a young age, we can inspire the masses.
The reason why this particular quote strikes me is because I can absolutely relate to the questioning of myself, my decisions, my vision, my next step – and then suddenly I realize that there’s really nothing to fear. In fact, I am actually more afraid of not pursuing my dream than playing it safe and keeping status quo. Even when we take chances and they don’t work out as expected, we are moving forward. We are falling down, getting back up, learning lessons, gaining wisdom all to the betterment of our journey.
Do you ever feel stuck? Trapped in fear? Drowning in doubt? Sometimes, we have to muster all of the strength we can manage and simply push our way forward. Fight for it. Take flight. You’ll never learn anything about yourself or the world without trying. Here’s to making that first step. You won’t fall and even if you do, get back up – your wings are on their way.
With Love & Light,
Tina B.
