Let’s Start Together

Happy New Year! Everything is brand new again. I simply love the feeling of a fresh start and a chance to do everything better. If you are like most people, you’ve made a list of goals or resolutions to fulfill by year’s end. And if you have lived long enough, you probably realize that all of those things may not be checked off by the end of the year. Life will move on and you can continue work towards anything. It’s never too late.

This year, I challenge you to take unnecessary pressure off of yourself and value the little victories that life brings with those that are special to you. Find people or a person that you can accomplish goals with. The buddy system always works because it allows for accountability and the ying and yang of two people trying to work towards something together. The more, the merrier!

I learned this simple lesson recently. I love to cook. It literally makes me happy. The other night, my fiance’ and I threw a fantastic meal together nearly by accident. Being in the kitchen with someone else brought me joy. It was so much fun (and less hectic) completing a task together. Togetherness is something that we are missing today. Everything has become so individual and isolating. The danger in that is that when you are having a difficult time, it makes it that much harder to reach out to people.

Stay connected and try building partnerships to tackle life’s obstacles and goals. Even small goals can become relationship builders if you share that experience with one person. Practice togetherness. We were all made for each other, not to navigate through this life alone. We can get so much further. Together, here we go into a fabulous 2014!
