B. Inspired – Your Words, Your Thoughts; Your Life

Ever wonder if your life is just a series of random events or if your words and thoughts actually have an impact on your day to day outcomes. I believe in the power of words. So much so that I started this blog two years ago in hopes to encourage or inspire anyone that read it. Not that I am the most profound writer, but I do think the world is filled with enough negativity, strife and drama, that we all could use something a little different every now and again.

I recently had a conversation with someone close to me. She said she believed that no matter what storm you’ve been through in life, there was a worse one to come. This notion was tied to the old adage of when folks say “You think that’s something (bad), you ain’t seen nothing yet (more drama to come)”. I countered that idea by explaining that the same could be said for special, happy or amazing events in our lives. Is it true that we are obsessed with drama and negativity? We digest news via television, radio, news sites and social media by the gallons. Filling our heads with stories of devastation, tragedy, sadness and hopelessness. Where are the positive stories to counter these atrocities?

Wouldn’t it be great to see the same amount of positivity, joy, hope and redemption on a daily basis. I can assure you, just as people experience loss and travesty everyday in this world, people experience abundance, miracles, grace and mercy everyday as well. I ended my point in the conversation by saying I choose joy and not to worry. I believe Jesus when he says in Matthew 11:30, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light”. I don’t think we were created for constant suffering, worry, guilt, shame, sadness, anger, etc. We were made to experience joy, happiness, freedom and greatest of all – love. To love and be loved.

Yes, bad things will always happen. But instead of worrying about the next horrible thing coming your way, choose to find the beauty in everyday. Choose to speak positivity over your life. Choose to build someone else up (you’ll be amazed what this does for you). Concentrate on all of the amazing moments that are in your future and set expectation. Celebrate the moment. Choose joy.

With Love & Light,

Tina B.

I am not worrying over what is going to happen in the future, but I need to prepare myself for the worst even in me praying everyday. Somethings do not happen the way I wish they would and that is what upsets me. No matter what I try to do and I know I am trying to help these persons to change, I look like I am the bad person. With God’s help, I will be successful one day. Thanks Tina.

    1. Thanks for reading mom! I am glad this spoke to you. While I understand your thoughts, I would challenge you understand God’s will for your life is health, happiness and healing. Preparing yourself for other people’s problems is not the answer. Jesus gave everyone free will and so while everyone has the will to do what they desire, you must not concern yourself with trying to change the behavior of anyone else. This does not work and you will only exhaust yourself further trying to make people do what you think is right. Let others lean on God and find their way. Love you!
