Hello friends! It’s been a long time. I only like to post when I genuinely feel I’ve got something to say that will help someone. The blog is ever-evolving and I have found that my posts on personal and life journey inspiration resonate with most followers. So today I’m going to talk a little bit about self care. I’ve discovered a new passion for myself, and that is detoxifying my lifestyle.
Now this will look differently for everyone. Personally, I’m attempting to make my everyday routine and go-to health practices a bit more natural and body-friendly. I’m doing a variety of herbal teas for basic issues like migraines, upset stomach, nausea and cramps as well as essential oils for relaxation, allergy flare ups, and mood lifting.
I’m also being extremely intentional about my time, self awareness and sleep. Not only can bad foods, chemicals, drugs and toxins plague your body and mind via your daily diet and regiment, but you must be careful about the amount of time you spend in anxiety, worrying, not being kind to yourself and not sleeping.
These stressors can wreak the same havoc on your mind and body, if not more than a bad diet can. It’s important to manage daily stress and anxiety in a productive, healthy and positive manner. Meditation, exercise, therapy, walking, or even talking to a good friend are all ways we can deal with the daily grind and the loops it may throw us. Sleep is essential for the body to repair itself and for the mind to reset, so be vigilant about getting a good night’s rest.
Positive self talk is another big one for me personally. How do you internally speak to yourself? Are you kind, gentle and forgiving? Are you beating yourself up mentally or tormenting yourself thinking about past mistakes? Stop! What’s done is done. Moving forward is the key. Be kind to yourself. Motivate, encourage and love on yourself whenever you can. You are more likely to give that same energy to others if you start with you. Peace of mind is imperative in becoming your best self.
We can sometimes think of self-care, “me time”, or miscellaneous down time as a non-essential luxury. That couldn’t be further from the truth. When you neglect yourself, you often have less to give to the world because you are drained, fatigued, stressed and completely out of balance. Make it a priority to be good to yourself. As they say in the friendly skies, be sure to secure your oxygen before helping anyone else.
Until next time, take care and be well!
Love & Light,
Tina B.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
-John 14:27
I loved your words and then the verse at the end to tie it all together! The Lord WANTS us to have peace… yessss!!!! A good and beautiful word, lovely lady!
