Something Old, Something New: Happy 2015

This time is of year is always full of mixed feelings for me. The rich anticipation of the new year is arched by a slight melancholy towards the ending of the old year. All the resolutions, to-do lists and goals of 2014 are either restfully satisfied or hang in the balance waiting to be completed. The new year promises one thing if nothing else. It extends to us a clean slate and a second chance to do it all over again. The sweet hope of tomorrow and a new beginning are sometimes all we need to keep going. Some days will be more difficult than others but the greatest challenge is to see that our journey in this life is so much bigger than that one moment of fear, disappointment, pain, loss or frustration.

For me, this coming year is full of personal goals that will develop me personally and professionally. I want to take more risks, push myself more and be more positive in the face of adversity. What will you do differently this year? Will you finally check off a skill or trade you’ve wanted to learn? Will you reach out to an estranged family member or reconcile with a parent? Will you finally leave the job you hate? Life is full of the unexpected so do the things that matter most as you may not have another opportunity or if you do, it could be a while.

Set goals and expectations that are both realistic enough to achieve, but challenging enough to push you to another level. 2015 will be everything you want it to be if you agree to come out of your comfort zone and don’t bother with comparing your accomplishments. Set yourself free of competition and focus directly on the path to your goals. Relish in your moments of success along the way and when you face failure, pick yourself back up and keep moving.

And lastly, to all of the sweet souls lost this year unnecessarily and before their time,  I pray they are finally at peace and rest eternally.

Here’s to an amazing, bright, happy, healthy, wealthy and blissful New Year 2015!

With Love & Light,
